We are excited to announce the Hoffman Environmental Team Mission Statement.

"The Hoffman Environmental Team is committed to increasing individual involvement by making an impact on the environment at school and at home through education and action."

We would like to thank all of the members of the student council & room leaders for their help developing this important mission statement.  Each month we will highlight an environment issue and share what each of you can do to make a difference.

January - Tree Recycling

Between January 3-31, single-family and two-unit residences may place their trees at the curb with other refuse -- it will be collected on your regular collection day (will not be recycled). Prefer to recycle? Bring your tree to one of the locations shown below and place it in the designated collection area:

• Cole Park (1031 Kenilworth)
• Cunliff Park (540 Echo)
• Flick Park (3600 Glenview Road)
• John’s Park (2101 Central)
• Public Works Department (1333 Shermer)
• Willow Park (2600 Greenwood)

If you live in a multi-family residence, check with your property manager as to the location of the "communal tree drop" location.

Make a commitment to recycle 365 days a year

1.  Find out what materials you can and cannot recycle curbside
2.  Lead by example at school and at home
3.  Recycle used batteries, cell phones and other electronic waste
4.  Pledge to tell friends & family that recycling is one of the easiest things to do to help the planet

REUSABLE carrier (cloth bag or lunch box)
REUSABLE food containers
THERMOS for drinks
CLOTH NAPKINS to wash and reuse
UTENSILS to wash and reuse
